What does a Periodontist do?

It can be easy to neglect the health of your gums. However, they are just as important as your teeth in regards to your oral health. At our Eastwood dental practice, Dr Tang and his team have had to regular treat and counsel patients regarding issues arising out of poor gum hygiene. Periodontal treatment focuses on making sure that your gums are healthy, free of disease, and comfortable. This soft tissue that cushions your teeth can become irritated or infected, and this in turn can effect not only the gums and teeth, but the general health of your mouth. Some gum problems are signs of infection which, if left untreated in its early stages, can require an urgent trip to an emergency dental clinic. Conscientious oral hygiene and regular dental check ups with experts in the periodontal field are the sure ways of avoiding such problems.

Why book an appointment with our periodontal team?

There are many causes to gum disease and gum problems. Poor oral hygiene, hormonal changes, illness, medications, poor health habits such as smoking, drinking and poor diet are but common examples. Dr Tang and his Eastwood dental are delighted to have Dr Tsai bring his expert understanding of periodontal treatment to the surgery. Moreover, it is a fantastic opportunity for all local Eastwood residents to have their gums checked. Leaving gum pain unchecked is unwise, simply because unlike a chipped tooth or an obvious cavity, sometimes symptoms of gum disease can be very tough to determine. In early stages symptoms often go unnoticed. A visit to Dr Tsai can prevent periodontitis. This will save you both time and money in the long run. Periodontitis can lead to numerous oral health problems and so a early trip to our Eastwood dental practice is advised. We regularly offer patients who are suffering from severe gum problems appropriate treatment to help seal the gum pockets and restore health to the gum line, while also preventing such problems from occurring in the first place through regular checkups. And now with Dr Tsai as part of the team, there is no better time than the present to get your gums examined by an expert.
